Saxofilm Brings History Alive

SaxoFilm specializes in developing and producing character-driven, historical documentaries. 

Our mission is to captivate viewers with in-depth and personal portrayals of individuals, who have witnessed or been instrumental in shaping defining, dramatic, tragic or exhilarating moments in history.  

Our visual stories appeal to both history buffs and the general viewing population, who wishes to learn more about the past and gain an insight into events that have formed them and their self-understanding.

  • Tom Buk-Swienty

    Historian, journalist and author.

    Well known for a long list of award winning non-fiction books such as Slagtebænk Dybbøl (2008), Dommedag Als (2010), Kaptajn Dinesen: Ild og blod (the first book in a trilogy on the Dinesen lineage, 2014) and Det ensomme hjerte (2017). Has won numerous awards: The historical book of the year, The non-fiction book of the year, the “Søren Gyldendal-prisen,” the “Læsernes Bogpris”and the “Rungstedlund-prisen”.

  • Klaus Birch

    Executive producer, journalist, director, writer.

    Has produced and instructed over 200 documentary films and a number of TV-series for TV2 and DR. Nominated, among others, for awards like the “Calvingprisen” and the “TV-Oscar”. Won the “Documentary of the year” in 2003 for the documentary “Sorgens Børn”..

  • Teddy Bruslund

    Journalist, director, writer

    Worked for the prestigious TV channel TV2 for two decades, where he developed and produced documentaries and true crime series. Nominated for Best True Crime TV film of the year: “Rejseholdet: Jagten på en morder” and “Thulemysteriet: Kvinden der forsvandt”. Won the Hollywood Moviehatch award for best script: “Twisting Destiny. Won The Coventry Film Festival 2017 for best short “The Farewell”
